In this group therapy scene, group members are all wearing masks to show how in therapy we often feel the need to hide our "true selves" in a vulnerable space with others. Exposing inner parts of ourselves can feel terrifying and we can hide behind masks of humor, intellectualizing, relying on being only the listener, being the jokester, and forever keeping that smile or unflinching positivity displayed whilst underneath shows otherwise. The aloe plant sits as a reminder of the healing that CAN occur with others in a safe setting and the starlings, which seem to be transforming from more two dimensional to lifelike in the room, are symbols of interaction, curiousity and smartness.
