This piece was begun in 2016 after visiting the beautiful idyllic town of Zdiar in Slovakia a few years earlier and initially aimed to depict feeling utterly uprooted after a relationship ending. Returning to this piece years later to " change the narrative" a bit felt both cathartic, scary and liberating. In returning to it, I created paths on the rolling hills and valleys to symbolize there are always different routes to take and ways out( or in). The colorful diamond shaped wind pieces evoke a sense of change that is hopeful though the black cloud above hovers and drips down the scene. The juxtaposition of these two different features shows both our positive and negative emotional tones associated with change.
